Staff Backend Engineer

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Engineer to architect robust backend systems that bridge the gap between institutional finance and decentralized protocols, driving the next evolution of digital asset ownership.

Responsibilities

• Architect Financial Infrastructure: Design and implement scalable backend services that facilitate seamless interactions between distributed ledger technology and legacy financial frameworks.

• Systems Integration: Develop sophisticated APIs and secure integrations with premier institutional custody partners to ensure asset safety and liquidity.

• Internal Tooling: Lead the end-to-end development of internal registry and transfer agent systems to streamline asset lifecycle management.

• Infrastructure as Code: Drive the strategy for cloud infrastructure, ensuring all systems are reproducible, automated, and rigorously tested for high availability.

• Technical Leadership: Direct the planning and execution of long-term technical projects while mentoring junior and mid-level engineering staff.

• Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with a specialized team to solve complex problems at the intersection of fault-tolerant computing and regulated finance.

Requirements (must-have)

• Extensive Engineering Background: Minimum of 9 years of professional software development experience in a production environment.

• Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Advanced proficiency in building high-performance, fault-tolerant systems within AWS environments.

• Programming Mastery: Deep, professional-level experience with Rust for performance-critical systems.

• Data Management: Strong command of SQL, including advanced query optimization and database architecture.

• Web Services: Proven track record of building and maintaining high-traffic web applications and services.

• Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of the current decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape and blockchain primitives.

• Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-have)

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Fargate, ECS).

• Exposure to secure computing environments, specifically AWS Nitro Enclaves.

• Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.

• Practical knowledge of smart contract development (Solidity/Yul) or Solana-based programming.

• Understanding of Layer 2 scaling solutions and cross-chain messaging protocols.
