Crafting the Perfect Resume: Tips from Our Sr. Salesforce Recruiter

Did you know that the average recruiter spends just six seconds reviewing a resume? Make every second count with these expert tips from our most Sr. Salesforce Recruiter, Kevin Kluge.

Key Elements of a Successful Resume

First impressions matter, and when it comes to your resume, the first thing I look for is clarity, standardization, and organization. To ensure your resume passes this initial test, be sure to include your name and contact information prominently at the top of the page, followed by a professional summary that highlights your skills and experience. Your technical skills, education, and work history should also be included, in any order that makes sense for your background.

Tips for Standing Out in Your Industry

The next thing I look for is a clear and concise summary of your work experience. To help me better understand your professional background, I recommend summarizing each of your roles in concise bullet points. Aim for at least two bullet points per role, highlighting your key responsibilities, accomplishments, and achievements.

It’s important to ensure that your resume and LinkedIn profile are consistent and complete. Make sure your LinkedIn profile reflects your work experience as described in your resume, including detailed project descriptions for each role. If you hold any certifications relevant to your field, include them on your profile with the correct reference numbers for easy verification. There’s nothing worse than finding inconsistent information on an otherwise good resume.

Another good tip is to include buzzwords that are hot within your role and industry. And don’t forget – your resume can be longer than one page! If you have several project-based roles to share, don’t feel the need to condense your experience. The goal is to display your skills and capabilities to help get you the job.

Finally, don’t forget that your resume is a reflection of your professionalism and attention to detail. Make sure it’s free from typos and grammatical errors, and use a consistent format and font throughout. By following these tips, you’ll be well on your way to standing out from the crowd and landing your dream job.
