OP on Forbes.com: Ex-Goldman Programmer Convicted (+ the silver lining)

December 2010

Objective Paradigm Partner Kevin Krumm was quoted in the Forbes.com article “Ex-Goldman Programmer Convicted (+ the silver lining).”

But Kevin Krumm, a partner at Objective Paradigm, a recruiting firm that specializes in financial world technologists, says Aleynikov will probably be able to find another job in the field. His skills are in demand.

His case has been international news, findable with a quick Google search, so any potential boss will know his story. He shouldn’t try to hide it, says Krumm. His lawyer might not want him to discuss every detail, but Aleynikov should level with them as much as possible and say as much as he can while still following his lawyer’s advice.

Where he lands and what money he makes will depend on the sentence he receives in March. If Aleynikov goes to jail for 10 years, it will be hard to keep up with speed of the development. “I don’t think they provide a laptop in prison to practice on,” says Krumm. And in high-frequency trading, the world changes fast. Very, very, very fast.
